Watercolor Stamping Technique

For this week’s Tag it Tuesday, I experimented with a layered stamp set from American Crafts to create a soft watercolor effect. While the results didn’t turn out exactly as I envisioned, I love the direction this technique is heading. With a bit more practice, I think it will yield some beautiful, painterly layers and soft blended textures.

This is the first time I am using my new to me Misti stamping platform. It was easy to get the hang of it and I think it will be a good addition to my crafting adventures.

In the close-up, you can see how the green ink softly spread beneath the leaves — a little blurry, but with a bit more control I think it’ll create exactly the look I was going for.

  1. It is beautiful. I’ve always been so terrible at watercoloring, this looks like a great technique.
