Mixed Media Tag with Sizzix and Cat Kerr.

This week I’m diving into mixed media by combining Sizzix Studio products with the rich, creamy colors of Gelatos to create a vibrant handmade tag. I started with a blank white tag, then layered on color using Gelatos.

The textures and dimension came alive using stenciling and stamping. It’s a playful, colorful piece that showcases how well these materials work together for mixed media crafting.

Gell Crayon Tag

Do kid’s gell crayons work the same as other craft brands?

This week’s tag for Tag It Tuesday was inspired by gell crayons by Bazic. These crayons are typically made for children but work like other gell-type crayons for crafting. While the tag seems simple and possibly unfinished, I like the look of it.

After creating the background color of the tag, I grabbed additional products that coordinated with it.

Get Creative with the Stamp and Stencil Tool from Sizzix

Using Sizzix’s stamp and stencil tool to make a card.

I used Sizzix’s Stamp and Stencil tool to make a card. Using a layered stencil for the flowers and a stamp for the sentiment was easy with this tool. In the video tutorial, I share some thoughts and tips for using the tool.

After stenciling the layers and stamping, I finished the card with coordinating cardstock and a tape runner. It was quick and easy.

Unboxing Sizzix Sidekick

I have wanted a small die-cut machine for a while now. I don’t want to lug out my larger die cutting machine for small quick uses. This Sidekick can be left on my crafting table without taking up too much space. So far, I am really happy with it. In the video below I walk you through the unboxing and first use.
