Making a magical greeting card that sparkles and shines.

What a fun greeting card to make. It glitters and sparkles. The stencil-designed paper was the inspiration for making this card, along with the card base that has a metallic glitter to it. Adding different elements of glitter and sparkle helped to unify the pieces.

The above image shows how the cardstock and the stenciled image both have similar glitz to them. The stenciled image was sprayed with iZink dye in silver to add sparkle.

I like to add a hint of the outside to the inside of cards. For this one, I added a strip of the stenciled paper along the edge.

Make Your Own Foiled Embellishments

Did you know you can make your own foiled embellishment dots?

You might already know that the Best Glue Ever makes great dots of glue. Did you know you can use them to make them into foiled embellishments? It takes only one step and you have a variety of different colored foiled dots at the ready.

You can make a variety of different size dots. I made mine on recycled packaging but any non-stick surface will work. Let them dry overnight or until they appear clear.

Those same dots from above are now dry and can be used with foil. You can foil them ahead of time or as you use them.

ScraPerfect has great sets of transfer foils but any foil will work. If you keep your used scraps of foil this is a great way to use up those leftovers.

Miniature Card Making

Having fun making a miniature card with Scraperfect.

I enjoy making cards of all different sizes. I don’t limit myself to a standard size. Mini cards are sometimes the most fun cards to make. Probably because I have a love of all things in miniature.

Stamping images for die-cutting, I often stamp them more than once – just in case. And when they are small it takes up very little room. You can even use up scraps this way.

Using the mini stamps and dies I might as well also use my Mini Maker from Makers Movement! Taping the dies in place with washi tape helps to keep them aligned.

After coloring the rose with markers and pencils, I am ready to put the card together. Notice I used washi tape on the front of the card and mitered the corners.

Using the no-clog writing cap on the Best Glue Ever lets me control the small amount of adhesive that is needed when working with small elements.

Typically you place your images on the front of the card but in this case, it is a surprise on the inside!

Making a Gift Tag

Making a gift tag inspired by ephemera.

Sometimes the materials suggest the project. This is the case with my gift tag made with pieces of ephemera. I loved the little girl knitting and it seemed like the perfect idea to make a gift tag to go with a special handmade knitted gift. The little girl image also set the color theme. I only wish she were crocheting because I do that more often than knitting.

Materials:

To begin, I chose to distress the edges of the colored card stock pieces. I cut the mint cardstock tag first, then the mustard tag a bit larger on all four sides. The mustard rectangle was a leftover piece from cutting the tag. Notice the hole isn’t punched yet in the mustard tag so I can align it correctly with the mint piece. These pieces were cut on the Works Board using the guide for making tags.

Here are all the individual parts ready to put together with The Best Glue Ever. You can watch how it was done in the following video tutorial. While the ribbon bow coordinates well, I couldn’t find the right spot to place it on the tag.

Making a Card from Scraps

Make greeting cards using up your scraps can be an enjoyable creative process.

Making a card doesn’t have to be difficult. Using up your scrap pieces can be an enjoyable creative process and useful too. I keep my little scraps in a basket on the side of my craft table and then put color coordinating pieces together. When there are enough of them, I start to make cards with them.

Materials:

card stock
the Best Glue Ever
ScraPerfect’s No-Clog Writing Cap™
scraps
gem stickers
alcohol ink marker

I used cardstock and Rinea Foil but any paper will work. I didn’t cut down or adjust the pieces. I find it a fun creative process to work around these constraints and find a pleasing composition.

I color my own gem stickers to coordinate with the design. This tip is a great cost-saving. I didn’t add a sentiment to the card. This makes the design flexible for a variety of different uses and I can personalize it when it’s needed.

Make a Paper Spin Toy

Easy kids craft, make a spinning paper toy.

These spinning toys are simple, but so much fun. They are easy enough for the kids to make along with you. Think how excited they will be to make their own usable toy!

Materials:

I used cardstock but any paper will work. Cut the strips to 3/4″ x 8.5″. Using cardstock you will need about six strips. The exact dimensions and amount of strips really aren’t important but you do want to build up the width. The only important thing is to make sure you roll the strips tightly around the toothpick.

Making a Mini Folder

Learn how to make a mini folder from one page.

The basic mini folder is made from one sheet of double-sided scrapbooking paper. Using the Best Glue Ever with the No-Clog Writing Cap holds the seams together by applying a small amount of glue, which is needed. From the basic construction, you can embellish the folder as you desire.

Materials:

After you have cut the paper to size, there are three lines that need to be scored. A small cut with your scissors and you are ready to glue the folder together.

I chose to use stickers and ribbon from Dollar Tree to embellish my mini folder. The embellishment options are limitless and can really enhance the look of your folder.

Paper Bowls

Learn how to recycle a catalog to make paper bowls. #affiliate @ScraPerfect

Paper Bowls are easy to make. You can recycle catalogs, magazines, or newspapers to make them. Rolling the pages into long sticks is very easy to do. Once you have a bunch of rolls made, you can begin to make them into a form. Depending upon how you roll them, you can change to shape from round, to oval, or even as a square.

This post is a part of the ScraPerfect Design Team projects I post on their blog twice a month.

Materials:

catalog pages – or other paper
the Best Glue Ever
ScraPerfect’s No-Clog Writing Cap™
Paint – optional
Spray Varnish – optional

For the bowls I made, I used pages from a catalog and the Best Glue Ever with a no-clog Writing Cap on it. This allowed me to add a little glue at a time which is needed for this project. You really don’t want a lot of glue when you are rolling the pages into sticks.

My favorite sticks have stripes which you can see at the top of the photo. I think it would be fun to make a bowl with just striped sticks. After you create the sticks of paper, begin to roll them together. You can easily add a new paper roll by inserting the ends together. One end of the stick is always smaller than the other end. If you leave them always facing the same direction, the small ends will be together. This process is easier to understand by watching the video tutorial below.

The two different bowls I made are shown above. The first one I painted and that added support to the structure. The second one I left as is but I did coat it with a spray finish which did the same as the paint for sturdiness. Which look do you like better?

Remove Sticky Label Residue

The Best Cleaner Ever saved my new cutting board from sticker residue. #affiliate @ScraPerfect

This beautiful cutting board was almost ruined by the label. I could hardly remove it and once I did, there was sticky gunk left on the wood. The label adhesive was so strong that once I removed the label, it pulled up some of the woodgrain with it.

You might think the bottle is little, but you really don’t need a lot of it to work. One squirt really goes far and it is safe on your skin.

I used the Best Cleaner Ever with my fingers and then a dry baby wipe to remove the excess. So simple, so easy.

Not only does the Best Cleaner Ever remove sticky residue but it also conditioned the wood. Look how beautiful the cutting board turned out!
