Designing a Leaf Letterhead

The Leaf Letterhead SVG file can be used in a variety of different ways.

with CutCardStock

decor piece

This leaf letterhead svg file is very versatile. I’ve created a finished decor piece with it to show you how it could be used. The design was created to be used in a variety of different ways like a letter, menu, invitation, announcement, and any other way you can imagine. You don’t have to put another piece behind the design, or on top of it as shown. It is just one option for this file.

card stock

The Royal Sundance Card Stock in Brilliant White is the star of this post and the card stock that was cut. It’s joined with Stardream Metallic Gold and Glama Card Stock in Kraft. The poem was printed using my Cricut Maker and the Kraft card stock but it could also be printed on a printer.

Cricut Maker

Use a personal cutting machine that works with an SVG file. I am using a Cricut Maker for cutting and writing. Because the design is 8.5″ x 11″, and the card stock is the same size, you have to pay attention to the alignment on your mat. The Kraft card stock was written on and cut on the Cricut Maker too. I used a 0.4 black Cricut pen for the writing.

Making a No-Sew Clutch

Make a no-sew formal clutch with products from Gwen Studios.

finished clutch

This clutch handbag is perfect for a wedding or any formal occasion. It can be made with no sewing at all. The beautiful satin and ribbon are from Gwen Studios. As a new member of their design team, I will be posting projects every month using their wonderful products that are available at Walmart.

materials
materials

I received a box full of different materials from Gwen Studios. The ribbon and satin shown above are what I chose to work with to make this handbag tutorial.

Directions:

fabric, foam, placemat

Step 1
The structure of the handbag is made with a plastic placemat, white craft foam, and Gwen Studios satin fabric. The placemat provides support and is covered on both sides. Satin fabric on the outside of the handbag and the craft foam on the inside.

ribbons and fabri-tac

Step 2
The decorative band on the front of the handbag was made by stacking three different ribbons from Gwen Studios with Fabri-Tac. This was done while the handbag structure was drying.

side of clutch

Step 3
The sides of the clutch are made by using white craft foam. Two pieces were cut to the height of the clutch and then glued with Fabri-Tac to the front and back of the inside. Once the glue is dry, just push the foam into the middle of the clutch.

velcro circles

Step 4
Velcro is used for the closure of the handbag. The velcro circles came with adhesive but I added additional support with a bit of Fabri-Tac.

Video Tutorial:

clutch and lipstick case

Using the same technique, I made a lipstick case to go inside the clutch. The differences are craft foam for the structure, double stick tape for the adhesive, and a snap closure instead of velcro.

Can You Stamp on Glass?

Have you ever tried to stamp and emboss on glass? See the magic!

with Fairy Stamper

The answer is, yes you can! I was excited when I saw this technique and knew I had to give it a try. Stamping and embossing on glass! I love the result. This beautifully framed piece was created as a part of the Fairy Stampers Video Design Team.

Materials:

  • Condo Dwellers FHS-060
  • Fantasy Flowers FHS-032
  • Works Board
  • VersaMark stamp pad
  • frame with glass
  • embossing powder
  • heat gun
  • decorative paper

After stamping and applying the embossing powder, you’ll want to clean off any excess powder and move to a heat-safe surface. Then the fun part, watch the embossing powder transform under the heat.

Clean off both sides of the glass with water and then frame the glass to finish the piece. I can’t wait to try this again and color the image, similar to stained glass!

Making a Fall Shaker Tag

With fall in the air, make this fall themed shaker tag from the free SVG file.

with CutCardStock

fall shaker tag

I think fall is my favorite season. I love the crisp air and all the fall colors. This fall shakers tag file I am sharing with you today is so versatile. You can make the tag as a shaker, or just use the front panel for a tag. Then, you have a variety of different ways to use your tag. On a card, a gift, in a journal, with mixed media…

cardstock bronze

With its shimmering fibers and rich brown hue, the Stardream Metallic card stock is one of my favorite brands of card stock from CutCardStock. The fall tag is made with the bronze Stardream card stock.

cricut maker
Cricut Maker

Use a personal cutting machine that works with an SVG file. The tag’s size can be adjusted. I made mine 3.5″ wide, and cut mine on a Cricut Maker at 100# card stock. I’d recommend cutting the file twice. After the first cut, don’t remove the mat but push the go button to cut again. If your mat has lost some adhesion, I recommend using washi tape on all four sides of the card stock to hold it in place.

materials
materials

A few materials are needed to create this project, and changing what you use can change the look as well as make the project fun! Coordinate the shaker elements with the ribbon to personalize your tag.

Materials:

  • Cutting Machine – Cricut Maker
  • free SVG file
  • card stock
  • adhesive
  • clear acetate
  • foam tape
  • shaker elements
  • ribbons
  • scissors
  • marker – optional

You can recycle the clear acetate from some packaging. The cut shape is not included in the SVG file. Just use your tag as a guide to cut the size you need.

Making a Beary Cute Card

Working with products from the Maker’s Movement made this card so bear cute!

with Maker’s Movement

Planning, coloring, and die-cutting this card was so peacefully enjoyable. I knew the moment I saw the bear stamp he was going to be a polar bear. My daughter loves polar bears. What excites me about the card is that I used the leftover cut-out leaves from a past project as the stencil to create the background! What a great way to extend the use of the die and the card stock. I keep all my left-over parts just in case for moments like this.

Many of the items I use in posts are provided by the manufacturers to promote their products.

.

Materials:

  • card stock – white and patterned
  • the Works Board
  • Let’s Get Cozy Die (leaves)
  • Woodland Friends – die and stamp sets
  • Distress Oxide
  • blending brush
  • Mini Maker
  • tape runner
  • Stazon black ink pad
  • Intense black ink pad
  • washi tape
  • Derwent Inktense pencils

Because I video the process, I didn’t get a chance to stop and photograph the ink blending with the DIY stencil on the front of the card. But you can see it all happen in the video tutorial below.

Isn’t that bear just so cute? After stamping and coloring, I taped the die in place then sent it all through the Mini Maker to cut. The only thing left to do is stamp the sentiment and put the card together.

How to Fix a Broken Zipper

This nifty product can repair your zipper without any tools needed. Check out how the FixnZip works.

with FixnZip

I was sent a few packages of FixnZip to review. I can’t tell you how many zippers have failed me over time. Coats, suitcases, sleeping bags – the list goes on and on. This product would have been a lifesaver for sure. I like how they come in different sizes dependent on the application.

The above image is a zipper that has been fixed with the Fixnzip. It was really easy to do and there were no additional tools needed. Check out the video below showing you just how easy it was to do.

Pumpkin Mandala Card

Follow along and make this pumpkin mandala for fall, Halloween, or Thanksgiving. It is so versatile it works for card making or home decor. #sponsored #cutcardstock

with printable and free SVG

Today I am using an SVG file to create a Pumpkin Mandala Card. This design works well for Halloween, Fall, or Thanksgiving. I’ve used the mandala for a card but you could make it larger for a beautiful decor piece. Or just framing the card would be nice too.

Many of the items I use in my posts are provided by the manufacturers in order to promote their products.

Orange, brown, and gold card stocks are being featured this month on CutCardStock. I am using Cosmic Orange and Stardream Metallic Card Stock in Bronze. I really like the iridescent quality of the Stardream card stocks.

I cut the CutCardStock on a Cricut Maker. The Cosmic Orange was cut at 100# and the Metallic Bronze was cut twice at 100#. While the mat is still in the Maker, just hit the go button again.

Making a Mini Folder

Learn how to make a mini folder from one page.

with ScraPerfect

The basic mini folder is made from one sheet of double-sided scrapbooking paper. Using the Best Glue Ever with the No-Clog Writing Cap holds the seams together by applying a small amount of glue, which is needed. From the basic construction, you can embellish the folder as you desire.

Materials:

After you have cut the paper to size, there are three lines that need to be scored. A small cut with your scissors and you are ready to glue the folder together.

I chose to use stickers and ribbon from Dollar Tree to embellish my mini folder. The embellishment options are limitless and can really enhance the look of your folder.

Video Tutorial:

Here is a look at the inside of the mini folder.

How to Make Double-sided Paper

Learn the tips and tricks to making double-sided scrapbooking paper.

for Scrapbooking, Cardmaking, and Crafting

Double-sided paper packs are hard to locate. They are a preferred favorite of mine for paper crafting. I have begun making my own. I know you can glue two pieces of just about anything together, but getting the correct thickness is key for many applications. The secret I have learned that works best is to use wrapping paper.

Materials:

  • Single-sided Scrapbook paper
  • thin wrapping paper
  • spray adhesive
  • spray booth
  • scissors

The materials are simple and the process is easy. Spray the backs of each paper and then put them together before the adhesive has totally dried. Spray adhesive works best. Other kinds of adhesive will add bumps and bulk to the paper.
