Wrapping a present for a birthday party, we needed a card. I had very little time before we needed to leave. After wrapping the present, I decided to use the wrapping paper to make a matching card. It was so quick and easy to do.
As a craft designer, I am provided materials to create with. Some items used in this post were provided by the manufactures.

*Note: single-sided wrapping paper works best so the design from the other side doesn’t show through like the example does.

The easy way
I know a lot of people have trouble when it comes to slicing. In my opinion, there is an easier way to slice in Design Space. Using a simple rectangle and some type, I will show you how to do both slice versions in the video below and you can decide which is easier for you.

I was sent a sample of Shrink Film from Grafix. I was so excited to see the film in silver and gold. I wasn’t aware of the color options. The gold was such a nice color for jewelry making. The technique I used was so simple and easy to do and the result is one of my favorite pieces.

To finish it off I used a black spacer bead and a gold crystal. Gold wire was used to join the pieces together and it hangs from an adjustable waxed cord in black.

I created these Christmas Trees for a post at Cut CardStock. We were presented with a mood board to influence our creations this month so I changed my original plan for green trees to red. I think they would also look nice in white. There are two different tree versions, a four-sided tree, and a five-sided tree.
I cut the free SVG files on a Cricut Maker. A special thanks to Cricut and Cut CardStock for providing materials for this post.

Cutting Tip: To cut the card stock on the Cricut Maker, use the 100-pound card stock setting and adjust the cut to more. Then cut the card stock twice. After the first cut and before removing the mat, hit the Cricut cut button again.
