A Simple DIY Foil Technique for Tag it Tuesday

finished tag

This week’s tag uses aluminum foil for an embossing technique. Using aluminum foil for crafting offers a variety of different looks. I applied foil onto the cardstock and then embossed it. From there, I roughed up the embossed image and applied ink.

embossed foil

Here is a close-up look at the embossed foil and cardstock. You can see some of the sanded surfaces on the raised image. This step is optional and is not needed if you want to add ink. You do need to be gentle if you choose to sand the foil because it can tear easily.

Finished card

This card can be used for so many different occasions. I am not sure which makes it more beautiful, the die or the foil technique. Together they are exquisite.

Kokorosa provided the Bubbles Background Board die for this post. If you would like to get the same die, here is a discount and link.

It is so interesting how the foil looks like it is on top of the die cut, doesn’t it? The close-up shows the colors reflecting well.
