Gift Card Box with Makers Movement

Making a gift box for use with a gift card with the Makers Movement. #sponsored @jointhemakersmovement

I am making a gift card box with a die from the Makers Movement. It is part of the Donut Box set. The donut box die has a coordinating stamp set making them so useful. No longer will you need to buy packaging for a gift card. You can make your own gift box and stylize it for the occasion.

The Donut Box die and stamps work together so well and can be used in a variety of different ways. Aren’t those donut stamps cute? They have coordinating dies to cut them out!

I planned on using the Special Delivery stamp as a surprise under the gift card inside the box but I totally forgot about it until after I was finished with the gift card box! – Oh well, next time.

CrossOver II from the Makers Movement was used with the Donut Box dies to cut the card stock. Be sure to check out the tip in the video tutorial below, I am not sure the die is meant to be used this way, but it worked for me. (notice the washi tape)

I wonder how you would use this die and stamp set? If for a gift card as I did, what card you would include? Let me know in the comments below.

Layered Border Card with Maker’s Movement

Make a layered card with a border die from Maker’s Movement.

Working with Maker’s Movement today I am making a layered border card. Using only one die from the Borders Die Set, I achieved this beautiful activity on the front of the card. The cardstock is created by brushing Distressed Oxide onto each layer before using the die.

Borders Die Set

I used the first die in the set above, I am excited to try out all the other dies as well after making this card!

Materials:

  • white cardstock
  • Borders Die Set

Making a Motion Card with a TLC Die

Follow along as I made a motion card using a die from TLC Designs.

title card

I received this Double Dial Die from TLC Designs. This is my first time using a die with motion or activity and making a motion card. The process is rather two-fold in that you put the mechanism together and then design the visual elements for the card. It was fun trying to decide what images would work well with the motion.

Many of the items used in this post have be provided by companies I work with in order to promote there company and products.

Materials:

  • Double Dial Die
  • Hampton Art stamp set
  • CrossOver II
  • Mini Maker
  • leaf die
  • 3 ink pads
  • Simons Says intense black ink
  • Distress Oxide Inks
  • Blending brush
  • WRMK Works Board
  • double-sided tape
  • foam tape
  • foam tape squares
  • scissors
  • white card stock
  • brads

Directions:

This is the die and stamp set that was used.
The die pieces laid out on the CrossOver II. The pie shape needs to be placed into the largest die piece.
Distress Oxide being used to blend onto the front of the motion card.
These are the three inks used and the finished front piece.

Learn to Make Easy Fashion Earrings

Learn how to make these easy fashion earrings using the new Mini Maker from Maker’s Movement. I love their earring dies, making jewelry is so easy using them. There are a variety of different sizes but today I am using the teardrop die that comes with the Mini Maker. In fact, all materials except my pliers and paint pen came from Maker’s Movement.

This is the new die cutting machine, the Mini Maker. It is a perfect size to sit on your desktop.

I am a part of the Maker’s Movement design team. I receive products in order to post and create with their products.

Directions:

Before we start on the earrings, I want to walk you through the new Mini Maker.

And now for the video tutorial making the fashion earrings: (includes a special appearance by Happy the kitten – who doesn’t want to leave!)

I gave this pair of earrings to my daughter to go with a red dress she just bought. So, now I need to make myself a pair. Thankfully it takes little time and is very easy to do!

Unboxing Sizzix Sidekick

I have wanted a small die-cut machine for a while now. I don’t want to lug out my larger die cutting machine for small quick uses. This Sidekick can be left on my crafting table without taking up too much space. So far, I am really happy with it. In the video below I walk you through the unboxing and first use.
