Box Envelope

Make a box envelope with this free SVG file.

with CutCardStock

Box envelopes have become really popular. Especially with the variety of depth being used with card making. This SVG file makes for a nice slimline envelope. It would also make for a nice way to present a gift of money to someone special.

Many of the items I use in posts are provided by the manufacturers to promote their products.

pop tone card stock

I used Pop-Tone in Spearmint for my project. As of this posting, this pack isn’t currently available but no worries, you can still get Spearmint in a variety pack of Pop-Tone. Pop-Tone colors come in a variety of different sizes and invitations as well as envelopes.

cricut maker

I cut the file on a Cricut Maker. As a reminder, set the red lines to score and load your scoring tool before setting the file to cut.

Here is the card stock cut and scored ready for folding. I used a bit of double-stick tape to seal the sides.

Video Tutorial:

Please visit the store to download the SVG file for the envelope. [Box envelope SVG]

The view from the side shows the depth of the box envelope.

close-up

The close-up view shows how the envelope overlaps on the front as well as showing the depth from a different angle. The sticker decoration I used to finish the envelope was one I bought at the Dollar Tree. I like how the colors of the sticker coordinate with the spearmint pop-tone cardstock as well as having a bit of depth too.

Making a Beary Cute Card

Working with products from the Maker’s Movement made this card so bear cute!

Planning, coloring, and die-cutting this card was so peacefully enjoyable. I knew the moment I saw the bear stamp he was going to be a polar bear. My daughter loves polar bears. What excites me about the card is that I used the leftover cut-out leaves from a past project as the stencil to create the background! What a great way to extend the use of the die and the card stock. I keep all my left-over parts just in case for moments like this.

Materials:

  • card stock – white and patterned
  • the Works Board
  • Let’s Get Cozy Die (leaves)
  • Woodland Friends – die and stamp sets
  • Distress Oxide
  • blending brush
  • Mini Maker
  • tape runner
  • Stazon black ink pad
  • Intense black ink pad
  • washi tape
  • Derwent Inktense pencils

Because I video the process, I didn’t get a chance to stop and photograph the ink blending with the DIY stencil on the front of the card. But you can see it all happen in the video tutorial below.

Isn’t that bear just so cute? After stamping and coloring, I taped the die in place then sent it all through the Mini Maker to cut. The only thing left to do is stamp the sentiment and put the card together.

Lace Card SVG

A free SVG file for a lace card with CutCardStock’s design team. @cutcardstock #affiliate

with CutCardStock

I have a Lace Edged Card to share with you as a part of the CutCardStock design team. What a great file to be used for a greeting note, a sympathy note, or a wedding. In other words, it is so versatile in its use. It is simple to make because your personal cutting machine does the work for you. All you need to do is possibly weed out a few pieces and fold.

White and Ivory card stocks are being featured this month on CutCardStock. I am using Royal Sundance Brilliant White. You can change the look of the card by changing the color of the card stock. Another option would be to include a liner to show through the lace cutouts. This would be a great addition if you work with a dark color.

As mentioned above there are only a few materials needed to create this project. Use a personal cutting machine that works with an SVG file. The card is designed as A2 size. I cut mine on a Cricut Maker at 100# card stock and I’d recommend adding additional pressure so the need for weeding would be less. If your mat has lost a bit of adhesion, I recommend using washi tape on all four sides of the card stock to hold it in place. I typically add the washi tape because I don’t want the card stock to move and then ruin the cut. It’s better to be safe than sorry.

Follow along with the Video Tutorial below for instructions and tips.

Seeing the SVG file in a pastel color makes me want to cut a few in different colors. What color would you cut it out from?

With Fairy Stampers

This Busy Bee card is made with the Bees stamp from Fairy Stampers. Today I have a video tutorial on the Fairy Stampers YouTube channel as a part of their video design team. The card design was inspired by my wanting to try stamping on a ribbon and the size of the bees lent themselves to the process.

The patterned card stock adds to the activity of the bees flying. I like how the envelope in yellow relates to the yellow ribbon on the card and the little bee stamp on the flap connects it all together. There is also a little bee on the back of the card which you will see in the video tutorial below.

Fairy Stamper Design Team

A new card designed for Fairy Stampers video design team. #sponsored @fairystamper @fairystamperhugs

Hints of Gold Card

I am a new member of the Fairy Stamper video design team. I will be posting tutorial videos twice a month on the Fairy Stamper YouTube Channel. This is my first card design using Fairy Stamps.

I wanted to create a misty look to the card. As if she were walking through a garden early morning and the mist was making everything appear gray and distant except for the glow and transparency of her wings. To accomplish this look, I layered images and used gray and green ink pads.

In the video below, you will find a unique stencil technique I used that creates a misty look. It can also mimic a tie-dye appearance. It is really easy to create and I love the results.

Video Tutorial:

The image above is showing a close-up of the hints of gold in the image. You can really see the Gold Shimmer Spray. I made my own shimmer spray with products from Dollar Tree. You can learn how to make your own cost-effective spray at the following link. [DIY Shimmer Spray]

Making a Butterfly Mobile

With CutCardStock’s Design Team

Today I am posting a tutorial on the CutCardStock blog for this Butterfly Mobile I made using three different colors of green card stock.

I cut all the butterflies and vellum centers on a Cricut Maker. Many companies I work with provide materials for me to use in tutorials.

Materials:

  • Embroidery hoop – center loop
  • fishing line
  • Cricut
  • Cardstock
  • Vellum
  • Tacky Glue
  • scissors
  • binder clips
  • pencil
  • craft wire – gold
  • super glue

I used three different greens for the butterflies from CutCardStock (affiliate links). Pop-Tone Card Stock in Spearmint, Green Curry, and Dark Teal. And the insides are Cover Weight Vellum.

The image above shows how the binder clips were used to hold the fishing line in place before being stuck in place with super glue. You can also see how I wound and looped the craft wire at the top for hanging.

Gift Card Box with Makers Movement

Making a gift box for use with a gift card with the Makers Movement. #sponsored @jointhemakersmovement

I am making a gift card box with a die from the Makers Movement. It is part of the Donut Box set. The donut box die has a coordinating stamp set making them so useful. No longer will you need to buy packaging for a gift card. You can make your own gift box and stylize it for the occasion.

The Donut Box die and stamps work together so well and can be used in a variety of different ways. Aren’t those donut stamps cute? They have coordinating dies to cut them out!

I planned on using the Special Delivery stamp as a surprise under the gift card inside the box but I totally forgot about it until after I was finished with the gift card box! – Oh well, next time.

CrossOver II from the Makers Movement was used with the Donut Box dies to cut the card stock. Be sure to check out the tip in the video tutorial below, I am not sure the die is meant to be used this way, but it worked for me. (notice the washi tape)

Links below are affiliates, thank you for considering to use them.

I wonder how you would use this die and stamp set? If for a gift card as I did, what card you would include? Let me know in the comments below.
