Liene PixCut vs. Cricut StickerPix: Which Sticker Machine Is Best?

Which sticker machine is worth the money and craft-room space? See how the Liene PixCut and Cricut StickerPix machines compare!

Cricut just released two new sticker printers. One that cuts precut designs and the other that cuts custom sizes. I personally would prefer the custom size option which makes me think the smaller precut shape machine will be short lived.

I watched a review on the Cricut sticker machines by Jennifer Maker and her review was quite detailed. She is also offering a giveaway of each machine that you might want to check out.

These new machines seem to be comparable to the Liene PixCut. Even the name is similar.

The two custom-cut machines are nearly identical on paper: both print at 300 DPI, automatically apply a protective coating, use 4 × 7-inch proprietary sticker sheets, produce 36 prints per cartridge and kiss-cut around designs. Neither cuts completely through the sticker backing.

Approximate supply cost

  • Liene custom sticker sheets: $42.99 for 72 sheets and two cartridges — about 60¢ per sheet.
  • Cricut Print + Cut sticker sheets: $47.99 for 72 sheets and two cartridges — about 67¢ per sheet.
  • Cricut StickerPix Print refills: $32.99 for 54 prints — about 61¢ per sheet, but you’re limited to the pre-cut shapes

My Thoughts:

If I were buying a dedicated sticker machine, I would choose the Cricut StickerPix Print + Cut because I’m already familiar with Cricut Design Space. However, I would need to consider how often I actually make stickers—and whether the convenience justifies the price and the space it would occupy in my craft room. I can already make stickers with my Cricut Maker, which also gives me the flexibility to create both kiss-cut and die-cut stickers. What do you think? Would the StickerPix Print + Cut be worth adding to your craft space? Let me know in the comments below!

Cricut Use and Legal Language

What does all the legalese with Cricut really mean for your crafting use?

Need a print out of this graphic? You can grab a free PDF of it here: [Legal Use]

There has been a lot of concern about ownership of your personal designs when using Design Space. Cricut does not own your uploaded files. You keep your rights — but by uploading, you allow Cricut to use the file for technical purposes in Design Space.

Who owns your files when you upload them to Cricut Design Space?

What You Own

  • Any designs you create and upload (SVGs, PNGs, JPGs, etc.) remain YOUR intellectual property.
  • Cricut does not take copyright or ownership of your uploaded files.
  • You can still sell, share, or use your original designs outside Cricut as you choose.

Cricut’s License to Use

  • By uploading, you grant Cricut a limited license so their software can process your files (for cutting, saving, displaying).
  • This license is NOT ownership — just permission for Cricut’s system to function.
  • If you share a project publicly in Design Space, others may use your design (but you still own it).

Use of the word CRICUT

You can use the word Cricut in editorial or descriptive content (like tutorials, how-to guides, blog posts, YouTube videos, etc.).

  • Example: “How to Use Cricut Design Space to Cut Vinyl Decals.”

Cricut allows nominative use of its trademark when you’re describing their product, as long as it’s clear you’re not claiming to be Cricut or endorsed by them.

Do not use Cricut’s logos in your materials without permission. The word is fine, but the logo is trademarked art.

Don’t make it look official. Your guide should not appear to be a Cricut® publication. Use disclaimers like:
“Cricut® is a registered trademark of Cricut, Inc. This guide is not affiliated with or endorsed by Cricut.”

Avoid using Cricut in your brand name, product titles, or shop names. For example, you cannot sell an eBook called “The Cricut Crafting Bible” or open an Etsy store called “Cricut Designs by Janet.”

Do not claim ownership or modify Cricut’s branding.

Let’s Etch a Coaster

See how I transformed a Dollar Tree coaster into something truly special.

with etchall creme

etched coaster

I transformed a Dollar Tree coaster into something truly special using etchall crème and homemade rubbing wax. The etching process was quick and easy, creating a subtle yet striking design on the coaster. To enhance the etched areas, I applied my homemade rubbing wax, which added a pop of color and made the details stand out beautifully. The combination of etched texture and vibrant wax creates a unique, personalized piece that’s perfect for gifting or adding a creative touch to your home decor.

materials

I used a purchased image from Design Space. With my Cricut Maker, I cut the design from vinyl and carefully transferred it onto the coaster.

creme on coaster

I applied the etching creme and waited 15 minutes for it to etch.

To make the DIY rubbing wax I used clear shoe polish and mica powder in equal amounts.

Video Tutorial:

I couldn’t leave well enough alone! Since the coaster was absorbent, I decided to test my DIY wax on the entire surface to see how it would transform the design. To my surprise, the etched areas acted as a resist, creating a striking contrast against the waxed background. This version has a softer, more vintage look compared to the original, where the etched design was more pronounced. Both styles have their charm, but I’d love to hear which one you prefer—let me know in the comments below!

Etching a Jewelry Dish

Make a lovely jewelry dish gift for Mother’s Day by up-cycling a glass dish and etching it with etchall. #etchallcreme #upcycle #tutorial

with etchall

jewelry dish

I found this glass piece at my local Goodwill store. It might have been a coaster but there was only one. I thought it would make for a nice jewelry dish after I enhanced it with etchall etching creme.

alcohol

The first step is to remove the price label and clean the glass with rubbing alcohol.

cricut

After measuring the piece and adjusting the size of my design, I cut vinyl on a Cricut Maker.

weeded design

I weeded the design and centered it on the back of the dish. It would work on the inside as well.

etching creme

After I made sure the design was well attached, I covered the design with etchall etching creme. It only takes 15 minutes to etch the glass and the creme is reusable.

After removing the used etching creme, wash the glass and discard the vinyl.
