This month I am excited to be participating in a Halloween-themed printable hop. My contribution is a printable page of Halloween-themed tags to color. These fun designs are perfect for kids, teens, and adults alike. Whether you use markers, colored pencils, or crayons, these tags are a creative way to add a handmade touch to your Halloween crafting and gift giving.

Coloring is more than just fun — it can also be meditative and calming. Taking a few moments to sit down and color can help reduce stress while encouraging creativity. Once finished, the tags can be used on treat bags, gifts, party favors, journals, or even as seasonal decorations. My go-to printer brand for years has been HP. I also use their ink supply service where I pay a monthly fee and they send me ink cartridges as needed. It comes out to be a lot less money this way and I don’t have to keep track because they do all the tracking for me. The HP Envy Inspire is a great-priced machine that will produce beautiful prints.

If you are looking for a great crafting-weight paper for printables, I have a new favorite. It is double sided matte photo paper by Koala. It is heavier than copier paper but not quite as heavy as cardstock. It is a great medium weight for layering, folding, and more! They have different weights, I have been using the 48lb double sided photo paper for printables. It is available on Amazon.

And I found a new sticker paper I really like. It is A-Sub. It comes in Glossy Sticker and Matte Photo Sticker, 25 or 55 sheets. You can find it at Amazon.

You can easily turn clip art images into magnets using Printable Magnets Sheets from Cricut.

Fall-themed Tags

This week’s Tag Tutorial is a little different! Instead of creating a tag from scratch, I’m sharing a printable PDF file with six ready-to-use tags that you can print, cut out, and color yourself. These tags are perfect for personalizing your projects, and I’ll also be sharing a few fun and creative ways you can color them — whether with markers, colored pencils, watercolors, or even inks.

Flowers with Olo Markers

Beautiful coloring with Olo markers, stamping with Altenew, and embossing with Emerald Creek.

This week’s tag features a pink flower that was first stamped and then brought to life with OLO markers. The result is an elegant design with beautifully blended color.

Blending marker colors from the same color family creates smooth, subtle transitions, adding depth and dimension to the flower petals and leaves.

After coloring three floral images, I fussy cut each one, but ultimately chose to use just a single flower and leaf set for a more refined look.

The close-up image highlights the detailed color blending as well as the subtle embossing texture on the tag, adding both visual interest and tactile dimension.

February Calendar Transformation

As I sat there, admiring my colorful calendar image for the month of February, I couldn’t help but feel inspired. The vibrant hues and playful design gave me an idea. Why not turn this into a one-of-a-kind, personalized greeting card for a loved one? With a few adjustments, I was able to create a beautiful, unique piece that was sure to brighten someone’s day.

The February calendar image was colored using mostly pencils from Staedtler and fineliners from Stabilo.

Cardmaking from Calendar

Repurpose your colored calendar into a card and share your work with others. #card #reuse #coloring

This year’s free calendar from Try it – Like it – Create it is an adult coloring calendar. Once the month has passed, please don’t throw away your creation, turn it into a card!

The materials are straightforward, you’ll need a slimline card base, your colored image, a way to cut down the calendar, and some adhesive.

I couldn’t just leave the image as it was, I chose to add some shimmering watercolor paint to a few areas. I bought the watercolors from Temu – they are fantastic metallic-based watercolors available at a great price.

Making the card is pretty straightforward forward but I’ve added a simple way to make a matching envelope with no measurements needed.

The dark green petals around the center have the shimmer added. I love how this project is a kind of recycling project where you can get more mobility from your colored image. What a nice way to share your work with someone special!

Beach Shadowbox with Makers Movement

Oh, how I want to visit the beach, sand in my toes, playing in the water. It is such a fantastic summer activity. Since I can’t go, I made this shadowbox to remind me of how fun it can be. This shadowbox can be placed on a shelf as a decor item or as a Christmas tree ornament. Wouldn’t it be fun to send to a friend that also loves the beach? Thanks to Maker’s Movement for sending me the stamp and die set, Beach Vibes to use with this project.

Beach Vibes

Materials:

Mini Maker Die Cut Machine
Beach Vibes – stamp and die set
black stamp pad
stamping block
Spectrum Noir markers
washi tape
scissors
white cardstock
Marabu fabric spray
double stick tape
foam tape squares

Directions:

I began with a box I made using a past tutorial here. [picture frame SVG]

Using the stamps, I stamped onto white cardstock.

Then I colored the images with alcohol ink markers.

Using a bit of washi tape, I placed the dies and sent them through the Mini Maker from Maker’s Movement.

And here are the pieces all cut-out.

I used Fashion Spray from Marabu and a torn piece of cardstock to color the frame.

Using double-stick tape, I placed the castle into the frame.

Next, I cut a bit of the bottom of the bucket and placed it in the frame with foam tape to lift it up.
I used a double layer of foam squares.

The other shapes were placed with double-stick tape.

And here is the finished piece.
