Christmas Tree Napkin Ring

Make Christmas tree napkin rings for your holiday table. #svg #freesvg #papertemplate

These are festive quick and easy Christmas Tree napkin rings. They will add a touch of Christmas color to your table decor. With just a few materials you can have a table setting full of them in no time. What a great project to get the family or the children involved in crafting. I used a personal cutting machine but I have included a template to use for cutting out by hand as well.

Making a Paper Ornament

Make a paper ornament with a free SVG file and cardstock from CutCardStock.

with CutCardStock

finished ornament

It is so fun to craft for the holidays. This ornament is a beautiful addition to your tree but would also make a great hostess gift for those holiday parties you are invited to attend. You could stylize the surface design to suit the receiver.

I created this free SVG file to share with you as a part of the CutCardStock design team. I love creating SVG files, and I will be sharing projects, including SVG files, with you twice a month.

The links provided are for your use and may contain affiliate links.
They cost nothing for you to use.
Thank you in advance for supporting this site with its use.

card stock

The card stock used for the ornament is Bonsai and is weighted at 80# cover. CutCardStock has a ton of different colors to choose from.

finished texture

I chose to create a visual texture on the surface of the cardstock. I began by stamping, then color smooshing, and finally ended by spraying with DIY shimmer spray.

Make sure the cardstock is completely dry before cutting. Set the red line to score, and the black shape to cut.

I cut nine ornament shapes from the 8.5″ x 11″ page. Each piece then got folded in half along the score line.

The pieces were glued together with twine added for hanging. A pearl bead was added to the top and a DIY tassel to the bottom for embellishment.

3D Star with Free SVG

Free SVG file to create a 3D Star with Cut Cardstock and Cricut.

I have a post today on Cut Cardstock where I am making a 3D Star using their Stardream Metallic Card Stock in Gold.

Cutting the card stock on my Cricut Maker, I chose the 100 lb setting and cut the file twice. This works great for thicker card stock.

Special thanks to Cricut and Cut Cardstock for providing materials used to make this project.

DIY a Mini Santa Gnome

Learn how to make a Santa gnome from simple materials, many found at the dollar store.

Mini Santa Gnomes are so fun to make and are great holiday-themed items. Each one can have its own personality. They can have big noses or long beards. You can twist the fake fur making a handlebar mustache. Your Santa gnome can be made fat or skinny. Change the color of the hat for a different look. Different decorative elements on the hat can change the theme completely.

I chose to add a pin to the back so my Santa Gnome can be worn. Another option would be to add a hook and hang him on your Christmas tree. These mini gnomes can decorate packages or used for other decorative elements. I have one sitting on my desk!

materials

The list of materials may seem rather long but they aren’t expensive. Once you have obtained them all, you can actually make ten Santa Gnomes from one pack of gloves. You will have a lot of other materials left over, so grab another pack of gloves for more gnome making. Items noted with DT were bought at the Dollar Tree.

Materials:

  • 2 pairs of gloves DT
  • small rubber bands DT
  • nylons DT
  • pom pom or bell DT
  • scissors
  • polyfill (or similar)
  • Hot Glue and Gun
  • fake fur
  • pinback (optional)
  • ornament hook (optional)

Fake fur can be expensive so purchase as small a cut as possible – 1/4 a yard or even an 1/8 a yard. You don’t need much for the mini gnomes. I found mine at Walmart. Fake fur can be found in a variety of different colors.

DIY Candy Advent

Create your own Candy Advent with this free SVG file.

Making your own advent for Christmas lets you customize it your own way. I made mine into a candy advent but it would also be fun as coins, dollars, or any other little items.

Special thanks to Cricut for providing materials that were used in this post.

Materials:

  • Cricut Maker
  • Cardstock – 12″ x 12″
  • candy
  • Cricut Markers
  • Glue Dots
  • SVG file

Directions:

To begin, download the free SVG file – Candy Advent.

The SVG file can be used to cut and draw. I chose to draw the type and numbers but you can cut them out of vinyl or card stock too. Then the shape was cut from the 12 x 12 card stock.

The drawn text is done as an outline. I chose to fill it in with a marker. A thick permanent marker was used to fill in the numbers. I did so in a rough, quick manner to make the advent appear more handmade. You can choose to do yours as you desire.

I used snack sized candy and attached them to the advent with Glue Dots.

Here is a close up of the numbers and the candy attached to the advent.

What will you use on your advent?
