Ways to Stamp Texture

Learn fun stamping techniques with Fairy Stamper stamps.

with Fairy Stamper

I enjoy creating my own textured papers using a variety of different techniques. For my Fairy Stampers Video Design post this month, I used a bulrushes stamp in different ways to create the background paper for my card. Another Fairy Stampers stamp was used for the sentiment. This was a fun card to make.

Many of the items I use in posts are provided by the manufacturers to promote their products.

The card came together in a two-step process. The first was creating the background, and the second was creating the sentiment strip.

stamping sentiment

After embossing the cardstock, the sentiment was stamped on top. Since the embossed cardstock has texture, the stamp needed to be applied more than once.

Once the parts of the card were made, it was time to put it all together. A tape runner and foam tape were used.

card close-up

Here is a close-up shot of the card so you can see the texture and misting spray as well as the raised sentiment. You can really see how the colors work together in this image.

Pumpkin Mandala Card

Follow along and make this pumpkin mandala for fall, Halloween, or Thanksgiving. It is so versatile it works for card making or home decor. #sponsored #cutcardstock

with printable and free SVG

Today I am using an SVG file to create a Pumpkin Mandala Card. This design works well for Halloween, Fall, or Thanksgiving. I’ve used the mandala for a card but you could make it larger for a beautiful decor piece. Or just framing the card would be nice too.

Many of the items I use in my posts are provided by the manufacturers in order to promote their products.

Orange, brown, and gold card stocks are being featured this month on CutCardStock. I am using Cosmic Orange and Stardream Metallic Card Stock in Bronze. I really like the iridescent quality of the Stardream card stocks.

I cut the CutCardStock on a Cricut Maker. The Cosmic Orange was cut at 100# and the Metallic Bronze was cut twice at 100#. While the mat is still in the Maker, just hit the go button again.

Fairy Stamping and Gelli Plate Tutorial

Making a fairy card with a Gelli Plate background. #sponsored #affiliate @fairystamper

I have a video tutorial up on the Fairy Stampers YouTube channel. As a part of their video design team, I post tutorials twice a month. Today I am using a Gelli Plate to make the background image along with the Moana stamp fairy. The Gelli Plate technique I am using is with alcohol inks and acrylic paint. It is really fun and addictive.

Many of the items I use in my posts are provided by the manufacturers in order to promote their products.
A special thanks to those brands who sponsor this site.

Materials:

  • Gelli Plate
  • Alcohol Inks
  • 2 brayers
  • copy paper
  • The Works Board
  • mini Maker die cutter
  • leaf die
  • card stock – green and white
  • blending brush
  • Distress Oxide stamp pads
  • Liquitex Acrylic
  • Best Glue Ever
  • tape runner
  • black ink pad
  • Derwent pencils
  • sentiment stamp
  • paintbrush

Video Tutorial:

I added details on the inside of the card as well. A strip of the Gelli Plate print that I had trimmed off the background and an additional die-cut leaf. These elements add a surprise when the card is open as well as linking to the front of the card.

Busy Bee Card

Making a busy bee card with Fairy Stamper. #sponsored @fairystamper @fairystamperhugs

With Fairy Stampers

This Busy Bee card is made with the Bees stamp from Fairy Stampers. Today I have a video tutorial on the Fairy Stampers YouTube channel as a part of their video design team. The card design was inspired by my wanting to try stamping on a ribbon and the size of the bees lent themselves to the process.

The patterned card stock adds to the activity of the bees flying. I like how the envelope in yellow relates to the yellow ribbon on the card and the little bee stamp on the flap connects it all together. There is also a little bee on the back of the card which you will see in the video tutorial below.

  • ribbon – yellow and cream
  • stamp pad
  • stamp block
  • Bee stamps – FHS-178
  • scissors
  • Xyron sticker maker
  • adhesive
  • black card stock
  • sentiment
  • yellow card stock
  • tape runner
  • WRMK Works Board

Video Tutorial:

close-up

The above image shows a close-up of the card and stamping on the ribbon. I like how the ribbon with the bees is solid and the ribbon behind the word is translucent.

If you are interested in the Word Art printable file I used for the word busy, it is available in the store [Word Art page] It is a really handy crafting material to have on hand. I printed one version out on card stock and another on sticker paper.

Mother’s Day Card

An SVG to make a card for Mother’s Day. #affiliate

As a mom, I have to say some of the best presents are homemade. I love it when my daughters take the time to make me something. I’d rather they not spend money on me. This Mother’s Day Card is one with a few steps but it isn’t difficult to make. I think any mother would appreciate a handmade card.

I work with a few different companies and with this card, I was able to combine their products. The following links are affiliate links, they cost nothing for you to use and in fact, they help support this site. Thank you for using them.

Materials:

Directions:

Using the free SVG file listed above, cut the white card stock with your personal cutting machine.

I am using a Cricut Maker. I set the red line to score and added the scoring tool.

This card is made from three parts, the cut cardstock,
the polka dot card stock cut just shy of 6″ x 8″,
and a piece of Rinea red foil paper 4″ x 2.25″.

I used the Best Glue Ever to attach all the layers.

I applied glue around the word Mom and around the outer edge of the Rinea foil paper.

The back of the red foil paper is gold.

Hopefully, you can get a sense of the luminous red foil from the above photo.

Using the same process, I attached the polka-dotted scrapbooking paper.
The paper I chose had a white back, making the inside of the card ready for a special message.
The folded size is 6″ x 4″.
