I was so excited to receive a variety of alcohol inks from Marabu. Alcohol ink can be used in a variety of different ways. Since I like to make jewelry, I wanted to try a new technique with alcohol ink on metal. The results are stunning!
Materials:
- die-cut machine (Cross Over II)
- dies
- faux leather
- soda can
- scissors
- embossing folder
- alcohol ink
- UV Resin
- UV light
- jewelry making tools
- jewelry making findings
Directions:
Cut your soda can with a pair of scissors. If you would like to see a tutorial on how to do this, use the following link. [cutting a soda can] Once cut and washed, I flatten the aluminum and emboss it.
Place the aluminum can in the embossing folder and run it through your die-cutting machine.
Here is the embossed aluminum.
We will cut the aluminum the same way we cut the faux leather with a die and the die cutting machine.
Here are the finished earrings:
round on dark blue faux leather
teardrop on dark blue faux leather
triangular on purple faux leather
and if you look to the left, I have one more pair to make but I can’t decided what color faux leather to use if any at all
