with etchall

I recently saw a technique for coloring etched glass that I wanted to try. It used a Sharpie marker to fill in the etching. I tried several different materials to color with and will share my experience.

To begin I am etching a wine glass with etchall creme. The video below will show you the entire etching process.
I chose the word “mine” to etch as a play on the word “wine” but also to indicate it is all mine for the user.

After trying the permanent marker, I finally chose alcohol ink on a cotton swab to color the etching. This provided a smoother coverage in the color I desired. Removing the excess alcohol ink with water was the same as the permanent marker.
Please Note: Alcohol ink on glass will need to be sealed with a UV spray and can then also be covered with dishwasher-safe ModPodge after the UV spray.
