Heart is Home Decor

with Gwen Studios

Gwen Studios recently launched an exciting new product line—buttons! With so many colors and styles to choose from, I decided to work with the red and pink buttons to create a cute Valentine’s decor piece. The vibrant hues are perfect for capturing the spirit of the holiday, and the buttons add a charming, playful touch to the design. Whether you’re crafting cards, embellishing a wreath, or making a centerpiece, these buttons are a versatile and fun addition to any project.

This project was created for Gwen Studios. You can find all the design team projects listed on the Designer Crafts Connection website. Gwen Studios products can be found at Walmart and Michaels.

I started with a free printable image available here: [Full of Love PDF] After printing the free PDF image, I chose buttons from two different packs from Gwen Studios.

After deciding on the arrangement of buttons, I added glue and placed the buttons. It was easy to do following the line on the printable.

After glueing the buttons in place, I decided to add a bit of bling with sequins and Stickles to the tops of a few of the buttons. I topped the heart shape with a shear red bow also from Gwen Studios.

Using a frame from the Dollar Tree, I added a dry brush coat of Metallic paint to coordinate with the artwork. The frame size was 8″ x 10″. The artwork would also fit into a 6″ x 6″ frame.

I love this project for so many reasons—not just for the adorable finished decor, but also for its practicality as a hands-on activity. It’s a fantastic project to do with children, as it incorporates fun and learning in equal measure. Kids can practice sorting the buttons by size or color, carefully placing them to develop finger dexterity, and even tying bows for an extra fine-motor skill challenge. It’s a creative and engaging way to craft together while building valuable skills, making it as rewarding to create as it is to display!
