My go-to printer brand for years has been HP. I also use their ink supply service where I pay a monthly fee and they send me ink cartridges as needed. It comes out to be a lot less money this way and I don’t have to keep track because they do all the tracking for me. The HP Envy Inspire is a great-priced machine that will produce beautiful prints.

If you are looking for a great crafting-weight paper for printables, I have a new favorite. It is double sided matte photo paper by Koala. It is heavier than copier paper but not quite as heavy as cardstock. It is a great medium weight for layering, folding, and more! They have different weights, I have been using the 48lb double sided photo paper for printables. It is available on Amazon.

And I found a new sticker paper I really like. It is A-Sub. It comes in Glossy Sticker and Matte Photo Sticker, 25 or 55 sheets. You can find it at Amazon

You can easily turn clip art images into magnets using Printable Magnets Sheets from Cricut.

Pocket Tag

Combining American Crafts supplies with printables is a great way to stretch your craft stash and create something unique.

pocket tag

Follow along as I create a fun pocket tag using one of the free printables available on my site along with a variety of creative tools and materials from American Crafts. Layering papers together is one of my favorite ways to build interest on a project like this.

The pocket element makes the tag both decorative and functional. Small notes, journaling cards, gift inserts, or extra embellishments can be tucked inside for added charm. I love projects that combine beauty with usefulness.

materials

After cutting out the ephemera, I inked the edges using Distress Oxide inks and a finger dabber. This simple step helped define the edges while also adding depth and a slightly vintage feel to the pieces. I love how inking the edges softens the bright white paper cut lines and helps the elements blend together more naturally within the finished pocket tag design.

crop a dile

To finish off the tag, I added a copper-colored eyelet using my Crop-A-Dile. The metallic finish added just the right touch of vintage warmth to the project. Little hardware details like eyelets can really help give a handmade tag a more polished and finished appearance.

Try This Watercolor Pencil Technique

This week’s tag tutorial shares a fun sanding technique that creates dreamy blended color with watercolor pencils.

finished tag

This watercolor pencil technique was such a fun one to explore! It created a beautifully soft and artistic background for this week’s tag tutorial. After stamping the image, I continued working with the watercolor pencils to add color directly onto the stamped design, allowing the details to blend naturally into the background. The combination of the soft washes and the defined stamped lines gives the finished tag a delicate mixed media feel that is both colorful and relaxing to create.

pencils

You can create this sanding technique with just about any brand of watercolor pencils. For this project, I used KingArtwatercolor pencils. To create the soft powdered pigment effect, I sanded the pencil tips using an emery board, though sandpaper would work just as well. It is a simple technique that creates beautiful blended color and gives the background a dreamy watercolor appearance.
