These two SVG cards are quick and easy to create, making them perfect for last-minute crafting or thoughtful handmade greetings. I cut the SVG files on my Cricut Maker using coordinating cardstock colors, then embossed the top layers for added texture.

My go-to printer brand for years has been HP. I also use their ink supply service where I pay a monthly fee and they send me ink cartridges as needed. It comes out to be a lot less money this way and I don’t have to keep track because they do all the tracking for me. The HP Envy Inspire is a great-priced machine that will produce beautiful prints.

If you are looking for a great crafting-weight paper for printables, I have been using HP Project Paper. It is heavier than copier paper but not quite as heavy as cardstock. It is a great medium weight for layering, folding, and more!

DIY Small Journal

A simple stitched binding and a matching dangle add the perfect handmade touch to this little journal.

This small journal was inspired by the beautiful texture and character of the handmade paper used for the cover, allowing the natural fibers, subtle imperfections, and organic feel to guide the overall design. I chose to fill it with blank paper but you could add a variety of different papers if you desire.

The binding is a simple sewing stitch, keeping the construction easy and flexible. I also like to add a small decorative detail to the front of my journals to clearly indicate the front from the back. For this one, I also added a dangle that coordinates with the color of the handmade paper, giving it a subtle finishing touch while tying the whole piece together.

Re-inker Blending

Creating often means letting the process lead—this ink and watercolor experiment took an unexpected (and fascinating) turn.

If you create often, you may find yourself in a position where your work needs to evolve. That’s exactly what happened to me this week. I began with a simple idea—allowing ink to blend and bleed in water to form loose floral shapes. What surprised me most was that the blending didn’t stop at the surface. The ink traveled through the watercolor paper and appeared on the back side, creating an unexpected and fascinating effect that completely shifted how I viewed the piece.

I began with a watercolor paper tag, water, and a Momento re-inker is a cocoa color. I used a business card to transfer the ink, a credit card would work too.

The image on the left is the front with the flower-like shapes. The image on the right is the back where the ink bled through the tag. I actually like both sides and had to choose which one to continue with for this week’s project.

Here is a close up look at how the re-inker bled through the paper and created different colors. You can see different colors of greens, browns, and a bit of rust.

Decorative Glass Heart Box

Turn a plain glass box into a Valentine’s treasure with a beautifully etched heart design using Etchall Crème.

I found this glass box a while ago and immediately knew it would be perfect for a Valentine’s Day project using Etchall Crème. The smooth glass surface was just begging for a decorative design, so I decided to etch a pretty heart right in the center of the lid. The etched heart adds an elegant, handmade touch while still keeping the box simple and versatile for gifting, decorating, or storing small treasures. It’s amazing how a little etching can completely transform a basic glass piece into something special and festive for the season.

After cutting the design on my Cricut Maker and weeding away the parts to etch, I cleaned the top of the glass box with rubbing alcohol.

I applied the vinyl onto the glass making sure all the areas to be etched were adhered well so the creme doesn’t bleed under the vinyl.

I applied the etching creme on top of the vinyl and allowed it to sit for 15 minutes, then I removed the creme and put it back into the container because etchall creme is reusable.

Wash the piece with soap and water to remove any remaining etching creme, and then remove the vinyl. A razor blade scraper can help remove little pieces of vinyl.

After cleaning the top of the glass, I applied a dark red buffing wax to bring out the heart design.

Here is the finished box. It really has a vintage keepsake feel.

Lucky Numbers Collage

From torn calendar pages to sparkling sequins, this lucky number collage tag is all about texture and creative layering!

This week’s tag began with a printable calendar that was repurposed to create a layered collage background. The numbers quickly became a fun design theme, inspiring the addition of coordinating die-cut elements for extra visual interest. A few randomly placed sequins were the final touch, adding just the right amount of sparkle to complete the playful and textured design.

The printable calendar was found in my paper stash, and it sparked the idea to use torn pieces for a layered collage effect.

With the collage background finished, it was time to add the final details. Die-cut elements, sequins, and tissue were secured in place using clear gesso, glue, and a pickup tool for easy placement.
