Ribbon rosettes are versatile, easy to make, and add a classic, handcrafted touch to any creation.

A ribbon rosette is a decorative embellishment made from loops of ribbon, often used for awards, gift wrapping, or crafting. With its layered, circular design, the rosette adds a touch of elegance and charm to any project. It can be made from various types of ribbon, such as satin, grosgrain, or organza, and is often finished with a button or embellishment in the center. There are many tools you can buy to form a rosette. I used a printable guide for this tutorial and formed the rosette by hand. If you are interested in the printable you can download it here.

I began this process by wanting to staple the folds together for ease and quickness. My stapler wouldn’t cooperate so I adjusted my plan and sewed the folds together. Using clips to hold the outer edge around the rosette as I sewed.

My go-to printer brand for years has been HP. I also use their ink supply service where I pay a monthly fee and they send me ink cartridges as needed. It comes out to be a lot less money this way. The HP Envy Inspire is a great-priced machine that will produce beautiful prints.

If you are looking for a great crafting-weight paper for printables, I have been using HP Project Paper. It is heavier than copier paper but not quite as heavy as cardstock. It is a great medium weight for layering, folding, and more!

DIY Halloween Candle

Halloween decor is quick and easy with etchall creme.

finished candle

Create a spooky DIY Halloween candle using etchall® etching crème and an orange glass-encased candle from the Dollar Tree for a fun, budget-friendly project. Your candle will have a personalized, eerie glow perfect for Halloween décor. This quick, easy, and affordable craft is a great way to add a handmade touch to your seasonal celebrations!

cricut maker

I cut a simple pumpkin face in vinyl on my Cricut Maker and then weeded away the design.

alcohol, candle, and vinyl

After removing any necessary stickers or labels from the candle, I cleaned the etching surface with rubbing alcohol.

vinyl on glass

I added the vinyl design to the central area of the pillar candle. Make sure it is rubbed down well without any wrinkles.

etchall creme on glass

Using etchall crème, cover the exposed areas with creme. Set a timer for 15 minutes. Then remove the creme putting it back into the container because it is reusable. Wash the area, remove the vinyl, and dispose of the vinyl.

etched glass

Here is the etched pillar candle. The etching is nice and more visible than seen in the image above. I chose to enhance the etching with buffing wax.

Diy Washi Tape With Only 2 Materials

Create your own DIY washi tape with only two basic materials.

Creating your own DIY washi tape is simple and fun, requiring only two basic materials: double-sided tape and decorative tissue paper or napkins. Lay the decorative paper down onto the double-sided tape. Trim the excess paper, and you’ve got custom washi tape ready to use! This easy project lets you make personalized designs for scrapbooking, journaling, or any craft that calls for a creative touch. It’s a quick way to add unique, handmade flair to your projects!

materials

All you need is double-sided tape and a napkin. I couldn’t get the pictured napkin to separate so I switched it out for another napkin that would. Don’t throw away the white layer you removed, it can be used as well.

sprayed tissue

I took that white layer to my spray box and sprayed a few different colors of Distress Oxide onto it. After it dried, I applied it the same way to the double-sided tape.

distress spray tape

Making your own washi tape lets you match the colors and patterns exactly to your projects, giving them a cohesive and personalized touch. Plus, it’s a fun way to explore your creativity and make something truly one-of-a-kind!
