Experimenting with Sharpie Markers

Tag it Tuesday

finished tag

Finding a package of Sharpie Markers, I remembered a craft that used them to make tie-dye shoes and shirts. I thought this technique should transfer to paper. So I experimented. The results weren’t the same but it still ended up interesting and colorful.

The links provided are for your use and may contain affiliate links.
They cost nothing for you to use.
Thank you in advance for supporting this site with its use.

The backside of the tag originally the front is less blended. It is interesting how the two sides ended up different.

I love how the izink spray transformed this tag with a pearl effect and a visual blending of the colors.

stamp and cards

Using a stamp set from Kokorosa and a free printable recipe card template, I made these adorable recipe cards. The cards would make a great gift for a newly married couple, someone who requests a recipe, a child leaving the house for the first time, or even a new mom.

My favorite printer brand for many years has been HP. I also use their ink supply service where I pay a monthly fee and they send me ink cartridges as needed. It comes out to be a lot less money this way. The HP Envy Inspire is a great-priced machine that will produce beautiful prints.

Using stickers from the Dollar Tree you can watercolor them in a variety of different colors and designs. DIY ephemera is unique and can save you money. Using the sticker from the Dollar Tree was easy but you could alternately die-cut your shapes as well.

Having Fun with Punches

for Tag it Tuesday

tag and card

This week’s tag is colorful and playful. I pulled out a variety of coordinating papers and my round punches. After punching out a bunch of circles, it was time to play.

papers

The card stock I am using came from CutCardStock. I picked colors and weights that went well together.

punches

I grabbed a variety of different sized circle punches. Use what you have on hand. This technique is meant to be playful and expressive.

I had so much fun making the tag I used the left over punched circles and made a birthday card. They coordinate well together. I even added a few circles to the inside of the card.
