Etching a Keepsake

with etchall creme

glass jar etched

I dried the flowers from my daughter’s homecoming dance and then found this glass jar at the Dollar Tree that they fit into. I then etched the date and school on the side of the glass as a keepsake for her. etchall creme made this possible.

parts

Using a Cricut Maker, I cut vinyl and weeded away the parts of the vinyl that I wanted to etch.

alcohol

Before etching use rubbing alcohol to clean the glass surface.

vinyl on glass

Place the vinyl onto the clean glass and make sure to rub it down well.

creme on the glass

Apply the etchall creme onto the area to etch making sure not to go beyond the covered area. Wait 15 minutes for the glass to etch. After 15 minutes remove the creme and put it back into the container, it is reusable.

Now wash the surface under running water and remove the vinyl.

Tag it Tuesday – Alternative Stencil Tag

final tag

This week’s Tag it Tuesday uses a stencil in an alternative way. The alteration comes from last week’s stencil tag. The technique came from a way I was cleaning off my stencils after making the tag last week.

both tags

Here are both tags so you can see the variation between the two.

The close-up image of the finished tag shows so much detail. You can see the layering of the stencil images, the stamped word, and the addition of the glitter to the tag.

Valentine Card Fronts – Freebie Friday

Do you make your own Valentine’s Day cards? These printable card fronts will be so helpful. Each has the heart theme but they are very different from each other. If you don’t make cards, consider printing them for collage, glue books, mixed media, scrapbooking, and more.

Grab the free PDF file here: [Valentine card fronts]

My favorite printer brand for many years has been HP. I also use their ink supply service where I pay a monthly fee and they send me ink cartridges as needed. It comes out to be a lot less money this way. The HP Envy Inspire is a great-priced machine that will produce beautiful prints.

And if you are looking for a great crafting weight paper for printables, I have been using HP Project Paper. It is heavier than copier paper but not quite as heavy as cardstock. It is a great medium weight for layering, folding, and more!

Double Stencil Technique

Tag it Tuesday

final tag

This week’s Tag it Tuesday uses a double stencil technique. Using two stencils, one larger than the other. and two inks, one darker than the other. This double stencil technique offers a lot of variety. Next week’s Tag it Tuesday post will be a variation of this process.
