Is it the Last?

In celebration of the 20th year of the Distress line that started with a brown, the new color is Scorched Timber. Announced as the last of the Distressed colors, but is it? Reports say this announcement has happened before and then new colors emerge. So I guess only time will tell.

If you are looking to round out your collection or just want to mark off what colors you have, this handy up to date chart is what you need.

Transfer Decal – Tag it Tuesday

transfer tag

For this week’s Tag it Tuesday, I started with a transfer decal from the Dollar Tree. They are rather easy to work with but if you have never done so, there are a few things to know. After transferring the image, the image was enhanced with colored pencils.

materials

The best way to work with a transfer decal is to cut out the image you want to work with from the full sheet of decals. Washi tape can assist in holding the transfer in place because you don’t want it to move or shift during the transfer process.

Freebie Friday – Misty Pink Tags

misty pink tags

I am smitten with these Misty Pink Tags. Maybe because Valentine’s Day is around the corner and they have a nod to that kind of a theme, or maybe just because they are pink. I can’t decide which one is my favorite but I am leaning towards the very first one with the blending of pink, orange, and yellow.

Grab your free printable PDF here: [Misty Pink Tags]

My favorite printer brand for many years has been HP. I also use their ink supply service where I pay a monthly fee and they send me ink cartridges as needed. It comes out to be a lot less money this way. The HP Envy Inspire is a great-priced machine that will produce beautiful prints.

And if you are looking for a great crafting weight paper for printables, I have been using HP Project Paper. It is heavier than copier paper but not quite as heavy as cardstock. It is a great medium weight for layering, folding, and more!

How to Collage a Tag

Tag it Tuesday

collage tag

This collaged tag was really fun to make. I started with no real plan or vision for the outcome. Working with a variety of papers that coordinated colorwise and had a variety of different visual textures, I tore the pieces and began building the collage. The textures and colors are balanced intuitively and the finished image came together.

Video Tutorial:

The close-up images above show the detail of the collage papers, the die-cut word, the brown edges, and the gold paint splatters. I think the gold finished off the tag. There is a lot of visual interest happening in a rather small piece.

Freebie Friday – Peachy Tags

peach tags

Freebie Friday is a set of peach-themed tags. Download, print, then cut out and use for all your crafting. Consider using them for scrapbooking, glue books, junk journals, card making, mixed media, gift-giving, and more…

pantone color

Why peach? Because Peach Fuzz is Pantone’s color of the year. What are your thoughts on the color of the year? It’s soft and brighter than last year. I wonder if this says anything about our current culture.
