Making a Card from Trash

Learn how to create texture while using packing paper. #cardmaking #crafttutorial

card

There are many materials around you that can be used for crafting. I recently bought a glass item that came wrapped in brown packing paper. Before throwing it away, I thought I could use it for crafting. I used a stamp pad to enhance the wrinkles for a textural background.

parts

After inking the paper, I coordinated cardstock, a colored envelope, and a sentiment I had in my stash that was made with washi tape.

If you would like to learn how to make the washi tape words, that tutorial can be found here: [washi words]

Bow Making with DIY Templates

Making bows usng a simple tempalte. #bowmaking @gwenstudios

bows

If you struggle to make bows, you are going to enjoy this post. I am sharing with you a template for easy bow. making. The templates can be cut using my free SVG file or cut by hand. They both work equally well and are simple to make.

The links provided are for your use and may contain affiliate links.
They cost nothing for you to use.
Thank you in advance for supporting this site with its use.

Making The Templates

cricut maker

I used a Cricut Maker to cut the bow templates from a cereal box. To make the templates sturdier, I cut two of each size.

templates

The cutout templates are ready to be taped together. I used double-sided tape between the two pieces.

Making the Bows

ribbons

I used a variety of different spring colors and sizes of ribbons from Gwen Studios.

This project was created for Gwen Studios. You can find all the design team projects listed on the Designer Crafts Connection website. Gwen Studios products can be found at Walmart and Michaels.

process

It is easier to show how to make a bow than to explain it. Please watch the video tutorial for the easy way to make bows using the templates. These templates can make single, double, and triple bows. You can also combine different colors together.

Video Tutorial

Template Files

The template file is available as an SVG file or a PDF printable. The SVG file will work with your personal cutting machine. If you don’t have one, the templates are easy enough to cut by hand using the printable PDF file as your guide.
