Mailing Letter Sizes

Grab this free letter template for standard mail sizes. #free #printable

Have you wondered about what size letters you can mail for a standard first-class stamp? The United Postal Service has a standard template you can print out. This is really helpful if you make odd-sized cards.

In the past, I have received a plastic template so you might want to check with your local office and see if they are available.

Here is the printable PDF for you to use. [letter standards template]

Cardmaking from Calendar

Repurpose your colored calendar into a card and share your work with others. #card #reuse #coloring

finished card

This year’s free calendar from Try it – Like it – Create it is an adult coloring calendar. Once the month has passed, please don’t throw away your creation, turn it into a card!

If you haven’t downloaded the free calendar yet, you can do so at the following link. [2023 calendar]

parts of card

The materials are straightforward, you’ll need a slimline card base, your colored image, a way to cut down the calendar, and some adhesive.

card with paing

I couldn’t just leave the image as it was, I chose to add some shimmering watercolor paint to a few areas. I bought the watercolors from Temu – they are fantastic metallic-based watercolors available at a great price.

Video Tutorial:

Making the card is pretty straightforward forward but I’ve added a simple way to make a matching envelope with no measurements needed.

close up of shimmer

The dark green petals around the center have the shimmer added. I love how this project is a kind of recycling project where you can get more mobility from your colored image. What a nice way to share your work with someone special!

Making a Card with Ink Blending

Making a card using a die from Temu and an ink smooshing technique. #affiliate @cutcardstock

finished card

This month I have a little bit different project for you, ink smooching on linen cardstock. Instead of using an SVG I am using a die cut with metallic paper from Cutcardstock as a part of their design team.

cardstock

The card stock used for the card base was Classic Linen Card stock in Solar White. The linen cardstock accepted and held up to the ink and moister from the smooshing technique. The die was cut from Stardream Metallic Paper in Lagoon.

parts

For this card, I combined Distress Oxide inks for the background directly to the linen cardstock and then layered a die cut from Temu on top. The die was cut using a Gemini die-cutting machine.

inked cardstock

The Distress Oxide inks were applied directly to a glass mat and spritzed with water. Then the linen cardstock was drawn through the wet ink to get the desired effect. After the card was dried and ironed flat, the die cut was glued into place.

The video tutorial below will show the entire process of smooshing the ink onto the cardstock.

Video Tutorial:

With the cardstock completely dry, the die cut can now be glued into place.

Cleaning Supply Recipes and Labels

Make your own cleaning supplies with these recipes and labels. #printable #free #cleaning #recipes

lablels

Do you prefer to make your own cleaning supplies? Consider printing out these labels and grab a few spray bottles from the dollar store. Each label contains its own DIY recipe. If you want to make them all, you’ll need eight spray bottles, one 3 oz bottle (poop spray), and one condiment squirt bottle (toilet cleaner). The ingredients are simple and easily found as well. They include things you probably already have like vinegar, water, hydrogen peroxide, and a few others.

The best part about making your own cleaning fluids is that you know the ingredients, and they cost a ton less than the store-bought brands.

This file fits on Avery labels and is a free PDF file. [Label File]

Making a Ribbon and Pearl Bracelet

Learn how to make a ribbon and pearl bracelet with Gwen Studios. #affiliate #jewelrymaking #bracelettutorial

with Gwen Studios

finished bracelet

Making this elegant pearl and ribbon bracelet is easy. There are only a few tricks that make stringing the bracelet effortless that I will share in the video tutorial. You can make the bracelet in any color you desire. Wouldn’t this be beautiful for a wedding, prom, baptism, or any special occasion?

The links provided are for your use and may contain affiliate links.
They cost nothing for you to use.
Thank you in advance for supporting this site with its use.

materials

The materials needed are basic. A pair of scissors, ribbon from Gwen Studios, pearl beads, thread, and a needle. I also used a lighter to finish off the ends of the ribbon. For the ribbon ends you could use a lighter or fray check to seal them if you want.

This project was created for Gwen Studios. You can find all the design team projects listed on the Designer Crafts Connection website. Gwen Studios products can be found at Walmart and Michaels.

stringing

To begin, leave a tail of the ribbon about 6 – 8 inches long. Using double thread, you want to sew through the center of the ribbon and then add a bead. Circle the ribbon halfway around the bead and sew through the ribbon. Continue this process until you reach the desired length.

finishing

Once you have the length needed, go back through the entire bracelet with your needle and thread.

Here is what the bracelet looks like while wearing it. It’s very feminine, isn’t it?

Arts, Crafts, and Sewing

craft best sellers

As a creative, I was interested in seeing what was top on the list in Arts, Crafts, and Sewing. Above you can see the top 6 items on the given day I visited. (the list continues with more rankings) The Best Seller lists are updated frequently but no specific timeframe is given.

Visiting from day to day I have seen the Apple Barrel paint in the first position for a while. The list has also included Vinyl and Cricut mats jockeying around positions but always at the top of the list. One day I saw yarn from Woobles in the #2 spot but I haven’t seen it again.

As an influencer, I can see what the public is interested in, what they are buying, and thus what I should focus on for crafters.

Craft Supplies

best sellers - crafts

Taking a step down into Craft Supplies, the above image shows the top 6 on the list. Laminating materials take the first two spots. There are five products on the list of six that I would consider to be of interest to a broader range than just for crafting. The one truly craft-only focused item is the Cricut mats.

More Info

additional lists

For each list you visit, under the first 6 items, there is a section that contains links to New Releases, Most Wished For, and Gift Ideas. These categories might grant you additional information you are seeking.

additional info

When you narrow your item down don’t forget to look at the review stars, how many people have reviewed the product, and check out the questions asked and answered. This information is found as you scroll way down on the product page. You might also find photos and/or videos of the product in use. This information might solidify or cancel your plan to purchase.

As the manufacturer or the competitor, this collection of information is golden.
