2022 Printable Calendar

A gift for you, a printable 2022 calendar from Try it – Like it – Create it.

This colorful calendar is a free download gift from Try it – Like it – Create it. The file is a PDF. Each page contains two months, just cut the pages in half. You’ll print out six pages, cut them in half, and then you’ll have the twelve pages for your calendar. The colorful backgrounds are month-appropriate colors and feature a pattern that is available in the store as printable scrapbooking papers. [Bio Dots paper]

If you would like a smaller version, print out the files at 70% on your printer. This will result in a calendar that is 6″ x 4″. Just the right size to fit within a frame. I suggest one of those clear acetate versions. Or use binder clips. This is how I use mine and hang it in my craft room right above where I sit.

Enjoy! To get the file, join the mailing list on the right side of this page. The link is included in every email at the top. Try it – Like it – Create it emails are sent every Friday morning.

Weave a Ribbon Greeting Card

Make a woven ribbon greeting card with this SVG file. #affiliate #SVG

with CutCardStock

ribbon card

I had an idea for weaving ribbon through a card and here is the result. I love how you can change the look by changing the color of the ribbons. What about trying paper strips instead? Don’t add the bow and add a sentiment strip instead would also change the look of the card. It is so versatile.

I used this beautiful Stardream Metallic Crystal cardstock. The cardstock is smooth and metallic. The cardstock has a mica pearlescent coating on both sides. It really is beautiful and shimmery in person. Changing the color of the cardstock would also change the look of the card – again so versatile.

I cut the SVG file on a Cricut Maker. The cardstock is heavy, you might find cutting it twice will help.

Here are all the parts I used to make the card. I used an additional piece of cardstock inside the front flap of the card because one of the ribbon strips was sheer. Depending on the ribbon or paper strips you choose this might not be necessary.

tape inside

I chose to use double-stick tape inside my card to hold the ribbon ends in place. Using a stamp pad to hold back the ribbons while placing the tape was a big help.

Origami Ornament

Make a Christmas ornament using origami paper.

with Yasutomo Origami Papers

There are many creative ways to make ornaments. You can use paint, alcohol ink, or fabric. Why not use origami paper? I cut mine into squares but tearing the paper would also make a beautiful ornament. I am working with papers from Yatsutomo. The ornament is plastic but this technique will also work on glass.

Many of the items I use in posts are provided by the manufacturers to promote their products.

Materials:

  • plastic ornament
  • mod podge
  • Origami paper
  • paper trimmer
  • scissor
  • ribbon
  • foam paintbrush
  • Scotch tacky glue
ribbon on ornament

The iridescent paper didn’t want to stay put. I found overlapping it with the other patterned papers helped to hold it in place. After covering the ornament with origami paper, I used a color-coordinating ribbon to finish off the look.

Making a Playful Cat Tag

Making a playful cat tag with Fairy Stamper.

with Fairy Stamper

cat tag

Cats are playful. The Nala stamp from Fairy Stamper needed to be playful and the scrapbook paper with the birds worked well. I put the two together to make a playful tag.

Materials:

  • scrapbook paper
  • cardstock
  • Nala stamp
  • black ink pad
  • clear embossing powder
  • heat gun
  • DIY shimmer spray
  • Distress Oxide
  • blending brush
  • ribbons
  • hole punch
  • works board
  • scissors
  • tape runner

Video Tutorial:

The glimmer on the tag is hard to capture on video and photography. Hopefully, the image above shows a bit of how it shimmers. I make my own shimmer spray. If you would like to learn how to make your own you can follow this link. [DIY shimmer spray]

Make Your Own Foiled Embellishments

Did you know you can make your own foiled embellishment dots?

with ScraPerfect

You might already know that the Best Glue Ever makes great dots of glue. Did you know you can use them to make them into foiled embellishments? It takes only one step and you have a variety of different colored foiled dots at the ready.

You can make a variety of different size dots. I made mine on recycled packaging but any non-stick surface will work. Let them dry overnight or until they appear clear.

Those same dots from above are now dry and can be used with foil. You can foil them ahead of time or as you use them.

the Best Glue Ever               ScraPerfect’s No-Clog Writing Cap™

transfer foils

ScraPerfect has great sets of transfer foils but any foil will work. If you keep your used scraps of foil this is a great way to use up those leftovers.

Video Tutorial:

A close-up of the dots shows the 3D quality of the foiled dots. Now you can make your own and coordinate the colors you need for crafting.
