Rose Lined Card

Make a rose lined card with CutCardStock and a free SVG file. #affiliate #sponsored @CutCardStock

with CutCardStock

As a part of the CutCardStock design team, I created an SVG file to create a rose-lined card. What a great file to be used for a greeting note, a sympathy note, or a wedding. In other words, it is so versatile in its use. You can choose to use an insert paper for additional color as I have with the red, or just leave the card as is. It is simple to make because your personal cutting machine does the work for you. All you need to do is possibly weed out a few pieces and fold.

Many of the items I use in my posts are provided by the manufacturers in order to promote their products.

White and Ivory card stocks are being featured this month on CutCardStock. I am using Classic Linen Card Stock in Solar White. You can change the card’s look by changing the color of the card stock or adding an insert liner.

Cricut Maker

On a Cricut Maker, set the file to cut at 100# cardstock and then cut the file twice. Without removing the mat after the first cut, just push the go button again.

remove from the mat

As mentioned above there are only a few materials needed to create this project. Use a personal cutting machine that works with an SVG file. The card is designed as A2 size. If your mat has lost a bit of adhesion, I recommend using washi tape on all four sides of the card stock to hold it in place.

I chose to cut a liner piece out of construction paper a bit smaller than the card. I used the Best Glue Ever in all four corners to attach it to the front inside panel of the card. Just fold along the scoreline and you are done.

A close-up of the finished card with the liner inserted is shown above. You can see the details and delicate thin lines that are cut with this design.

How to Make Double-sided Paper

Learn the tips and tricks to making double-sided scrapbooking paper.

for Scrapbooking, Cardmaking, and Crafting

Double-sided paper packs are hard to locate. They are a preferred favorite of mine for paper crafting. I have begun making my own. I know you can glue two pieces of just about anything together, but getting the correct thickness is key for many applications. The secret I have learned that works best is to use wrapping paper.

Materials:

  • Single-sided Scrapbook paper
  • thin wrapping paper
  • spray adhesive
  • spray booth
  • scissors

The materials are simple and the process is easy. Spray the backs of each paper and then put them together before the adhesive has totally dried. Spray adhesive works best. Other kinds of adhesive will add bumps and bulk to the paper.

Fairy Stamping and Gelli Plate Tutorial

Making a fairy card with a Gelli Plate background. #sponsored #affiliate @fairystamper

I have a video tutorial up on the Fairy Stampers YouTube channel. As a part of their video design team, I post tutorials twice a month. Today I am using a Gelli Plate to make the background image along with the Moana stamp fairy. The Gelli Plate technique I am using is with alcohol inks and acrylic paint. It is really fun and addictive.

Many of the items I use in my posts are provided by the manufacturers in order to promote their products.
A special thanks to those brands who sponsor this site.

Materials:

  • Gelli Plate
  • Alcohol Inks
  • 2 brayers
  • copy paper
  • The Works Board
  • mini Maker die cutter
  • leaf die
  • card stock – green and white
  • blending brush
  • Distress Oxide stamp pads
  • Liquitex Acrylic
  • Best Glue Ever
  • tape runner
  • black ink pad
  • Derwent pencils
  • sentiment stamp
  • paintbrush

Video Tutorial:

I added details on the inside of the card as well. A strip of the Gelli Plate print that I had trimmed off the background and an additional die-cut leaf. These elements add a surprise when the card is open as well as linking to the front of the card.

Making a Fall Blessings Card

Make a fall greeting card with products from the Makers Movement.

with the Makers Movement

The Makers Movement sent me a recently released die set and card stock pack. The fall colors of the card stock were perfect for making a card. The leaves cut out in two different tones of green were placed in a circle to make a wreath. I really enjoy the fall colors in the card stock pack.

Many of the items I use in posts are provided by the manufacturers to promote their products.

.

Materials:

  • card stock – white and patterned
  • Paper Trimmer
  • Rinea foiled paper
  • Let’s Get Cozy Die
  • CrossOver II
  • Mini Maker
  • washi tape punch
  • tape runner
  • adhesive
  • pencil
  • sentiment die

I chose to work with coordinating paper that included two shades of green to make the wreath. The curved leaf die was perfect for the circular shape of the wreath.

I began getting the parts needed together. Cutting the leaf shape on the CrossOver II. My favorite thing about the CrossOver II is the adjustable steel roller bar, which allows various thicknesses to cut easily. The sentiment was an afterthought so I cut it on the Mini Maker. Both machines are made by the Makers Movement.

To see the card being put together, watch the video tutorial below.

How to Make Ribbon Earrings

You are going to love making these earrings from ribbon with Gwen Studios.

With Ribbon from Gwen Studios

ribbon earrings

Today I am back working with Gwen Studios ribbon as an application to be on their design team. We were asked to make jewelry or home decor and since I had already made a decor piece with ribbon, I chose to make earrings. These ribbon earrings use coordinating ribbons layered together. The fun thing about them is that you can make them at whatever length you want.

I would first like to thank Designer Crafts Connection for the opportunity to work with amazing companies and designers. Specifically for this post, I would like to thank Gwen Studios for providing me with an amazing box of materials to work with.

.

  • ribbons – Gwen Studios
  • jewelry making pliers
  • jewelry findings – ear wires and ribbon ends
  • scissors
  • ruler
  • lighter
  • adhesive – optional

Gwen Studios products can be found at your local Walmart store.

Directions:

measure ribbon

To make the earrings, you want to measure and cut your ribbons into different lengths. Starting with the widest ribbon as the longest. Keep in mind most of the ribbons will be folded in half.

Video Tutorial:

I am a total fan of pink so they were the first pair of earrings I made. Gwen Studios has so many beautiful ribbons I couldn’t stop making only one pair.

It’s time to make some signs for fall. Here is my take on the Farm Fresh idea. I like the interaction between positive and negative shapes making up the three animals stacked upon each other. I’ve shown it here in all black vinyl, but you could add color to the Farm Fresh design. Grab this free SVG file and visit all the other free SVG files listed below.
