Summer Style Doesn't Have To Mean Showing Skin!

July 4, 2017

Summer is here and with summer comes the heat. It's incredibly important that you stay comfortable and cool in the summer sun which means that your wardrobe is likely to go through some serious changes. This can often present something of an issue for a lot of people. After all, there's nothing wrong with wanting to stay cool and look good when it's hot, but not everyone is particularly into showing a lot of skin. Now, that's not to say that there's anything wrong with showing some skin, it's a great way to stay cool and if it makes you feel good then go for it! But for those who feel more comfortable being a bit more covered up, here are some things that you can try.

Harem pants

It's a tragic day when you realize that you have to put away your jeans for another season. After all, many of us live in our favorite pair of jeans for the best part of the year so having to say goodbye to them can be tough. Not only that but it's also difficult for a lot of people since it often seems as though the only alternative to your jeans are shorts which will end up showing a lot more leg than you might be comfortable with. However, there is another way. A halfway point between showing more skin than you'd like and sweating into your jeans in the hot weather. Harem pants offer you full coverage from the sun while also giving your skin the space it needs to breathe. Not only that but they come is a whole variety of styles so you've always got something that you can pair them with.

Sun dresses

Now you might be thinking that sun dresses often show off more skin than many other types of clothes and yes, they traditionally do leave you a little bit exposed. However, there are so many different varieties of sun dresses that you're almost certain to find something that is a little more modest but just as stylish. Long sleeve sun dresses or maxi dresses allow you to stay cool without showing a lot of skin. Not only that but they are perfect for bringing a sense of formality and elegance to a sundress if you find yourself out on the town when the weather is hot.

Pick your colors carefully

When you were younger, your mother might have told you that wearing black in the summer was going to make you overheat. Naturally, you probably ignored her and refused to take off any of your black clothes (It's not a phase mom!) However, it turns out she was right. The color of your clothes does actually have an impact on how hot you are. Stick with light colors if you want to stay cool. White is especially good because of how much light it reflects. If you wear dark colors, then they will end up absorbing a lot of heat that will leave you overheated and exhausted, which is not a good look.

Go Back

It seems like showing skin is the new style but people don't realize that covering some skin doesn't take away from your outfit!
