Mardi Gras Masks - Free Printable

Mardi Gras is rich in tradition.  According to the International Business Times, Mardi Gras is an opportunity for people to abandon social constraint by donning a mask to celebrate Fat Tuesday. The mask being worn to hide behind and therefore not be recognized as they "let their hair down". For us, it is an opportunity to make a fun craft and learn a little bit about the holiday celebration.

You can create your own template or download and cut out our free template. The file is a PDF and has three masks on one page. We printed ours out on cardstock, printed paper would be interesting to start with as well. [Mask PDF]

mask cut out

Cut out the mask cutting off the black outline as best as possible.

There are no set materials used to decorate your mask. We used stickers, stamps, markers, and paint pens. These were not very unique craft materials but I challenge you to be creative and think outside the box.

These are our end results. Happy crafting and happy Fat Tuesday!
