Disney Castle Shirt

June 12, 2015

This DIY Disney shirt technique was so fun and easy to do. We began by cutting out the Disney Castle shape on our cricut [SVG file] from freezer paper. Then we ironed it down to our shirt.

DecoArt SoSoft paint is becoming our favorite choice for DIY projects. We used it for the painting part of this project. But I am getting ahead of myself.

After the shape is ironed onto the shirt, we sprayed the surrounding area with bleach. Our black t-shirt turned a burt orange color. Doing this out in the sun helped the process dry quickly. We then used the DecoArt SoSoft paint with a paintbrush in a dabbing motion randomly around the shirt. We changed colors from time to time not waiting for the paint to dry so they would mix and soften together. We wanted to cover all the bleached area with paint.

We waited for the paint to dry, again it didn't take too long in the hot sun. At this point, you can remove the freezer paper.

Finally, wait at least 24 hours before washing. We recommend you turn the shirt inside out when doing so.

DecoArt SoSoft paint was originally provided for another Try it - Like it project post but we continue to use it since we love it!!!
